Australian grown Certified Demeter Biodynamic rice from the Barham district in NSW. Brown rice is the whole grain with just the first outer layer (husk or hull) removed through milling. It still retains its fiber and the germ which contains many of the most vital nutrients.
Medium grain brown rice gets its characteristic nutty flavour and firmer texture from the presence of nutritious outer bran layers. The bran layers are rich in minerals and vitamins, especially the B-complex group.
Medium grain brown rice has a shorter, wider kernel, when compared to “long grain rice”. The cooked grains are more moist and tender, and have a greater tendency to cling together than long grain.
Brown rice does take longer to cook than white rice, but is more tasty & nutritious.
