Frankincense is one of the oldest aromatics and has been used in medicines and embalming mixtures since the times of the Egyptian pharaohs. The resin was burned for religious ceremonies particularly in the christian religion and was one of the three gifts given to the baby Jesus, along with gold and myrrh.
Frankincense can be used in skin care for dry and aged skin and gives relief to irritated skin. Mix 10 drops of essential oil into 50ml of apricot oil (or carrier oil of your choice) and massage gently onto the skin. It is also useful for respiratory conditions such as coughs, colds and flu. Add 20 drops of frankincense essential oil to 100g of ointment for healing wounds. Emotional A great essential oil to relax and melt away stress and anxiety. A few drops in an oil diffuser will deepen a meditation and bring awareness to the spiritual world. Blends with Basil, Camphor, Cedarwood, Cypress, Geranium, Lavender, Myrrh, Patchouli, Peppermint, Rose, Sandalwood, Vetiver and Citrus oils.
Caution Can be irritating to sensitive skin. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas. We do not recommend taking essential oils internally.
