Geranium essential oil is made from the leaves of the pelargonium and not from the ornamental geranium as you might imagine from the name. Sometimes referred to as poor man's rose oil it is more affordable with similar uses. It is a popular oil for aromatherapists to use for hormonal imbalances and skin care products.
As a massage oil by adding 10 - 20 drops to 50ml of almond oil (or carrier oil of your choice) It can be used to bring relief to menopausal and menstrual problems as well as cellulite and fluid retention. It is also soothing for nerve pain and shingles. One or two drops of geranium essential oil can be rubbed directly on acne, dermatitis & acne.
An excellent skin moisturiser and regenerator, Geranium essential oil helps to balance oily and dry skin. Add geranium essential oil to base moisturisers at a rate of 10-15 drops to 50ml cream. It is also an effective aid to help with burns, wounds, ulcers, athletes foot and other skin problems.
